Software Engineering Intern at Affirm

As an intern on Affirm’s engineering team, you will work on meaningful projects and frequently ship code. Recent grads and past interns have built a real-time, high-throughput data processing pipeline, an extensive automated testing framework, and parts of Affirm’s proprietary financial platform. This is a 12-16 week internship, and Affirm will tailor projects to your skills and work with you during the interview process to find the best team for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and ship a project, and verify that it works in production
• Work with your mentor and manager at the start of the internship to scope a project that best serves your team (projects are not specified in advance)
• Ship code and monitor the deployment of your work, which your team will depend on
• Meet regularly with a dedicated mentor for advice and feedback
• Take part in events with other interns and full-time Affirmers (past events include virtual cooking classes, executive fireside chats, cable car trolley tours, and Giants games)
• Present your work to the entire engineering organization at the end of the internship

Requirements

• Strong students interested in a 12-16 week internship
• Passion and dedication to changing consumer banking for the better
• Experience with Python, C/C++, or Java
• Experience with object-oriented programming
• Strong communication skills
