Frontend Software Engineer - Ads Manager

Ads powers Reddit’s mission to bring community, belonging, and empowerment to everyone in the world. The Advertiser Platform organization owns ads.reddit.com, Reddit’s core advertiser-facing product.

We’re looking for a Mid-Level Frontend Engineer to join our Ads Manager team. Our cross-functional team of frontend and backend engineers builds tools that help advertisers create and manage campaigns at scale. We focus on making complex advertising workflows intuitive, accessible, performant, and reliable.

In this role, you’ll own medium-sized frontend projects end-to-end—helping clarify requirements, proposing technical solutions, carrying work through implementation and release, and collaborating closely with cross-functional partners.

Key Responsibilities

• User Interface Engineering: Build intuitive, accessible web interfaces that enable advertisers to seamlessly create, optimize, and manage ad campaigns.
• Project Ownership: Own the technical design, implementation, testing, and release cycle for medium-sized frontend features and components.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate advertiser needs into well-scoped technical projects.
• System Quality & Performance: Improve frontend web performance, address bugs, enhance application reliability, and contribute reusable components and UI patterns.
• Code Maintenance & Reviews: Review code, document architectural decisions, and communicate project dependencies, progress, and risks early.

Requirements

Experience & Background

• 3+ years of general software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of dedicated frontend engineering experience building and maintaining production web applications.

Technical Skills & Execution

• Strong experience building, testing, and shipping maintainable production web applications.
• Ability to break down project scopes, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and deliver solutions independently.
• Commitment to code quality, testing best practices, and code review participation.

Communication & Collaboration

• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborative problem-solving mindset when working with engineers, product managers, and designers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building advertising products, ad-tech platforms, creative tools, or design systems.
• Direct experience partnering with product managers and product designers in short development cycles.
