About the role

Anthropic is seeking a Product Designer to help shape the future of AI-powered products and user experiences. This role sits at the intersection of design craftsmanship, AI research, and product strategy, with a focus on creating intuitive interactions for products used by millions of people.

You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and AI researchers to design experiences that make AI more useful, trustworthy, and accessible. Your work will involve exploring new interaction patterns, challenging traditional user interface conventions, and translating emerging AI capabilities into polished product experiences.

The ideal candidate moves quickly from ideas to prototypes and production-ready designs, embraces ambiguity, and uses tools such as Claude Code to expand their creative and technical capabilities. You will balance visual detail, usability, clear communication, and rapid execution while helping establish new design patterns for AI-native products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, AI researchers, and other stakeholders to define product vision, strategy, and roadmaps.
  • Participate actively in product development and deliver high-quality features from concept to launch.
  • Understand product architecture and define foundational design patterns for emerging AI capabilities.
  • Design polished user interfaces with exceptional attention to detail, usability, and consistency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing product flows and overall user experience.
  • Create intuitive and engaging interfaces that build user trust and demonstrate the capabilities of AI technology.
  • Develop designs, prototypes, and code-based experiments to communicate ideas effectively.
  • Explore new interaction patterns that reflect the evolving capabilities of AI systems.
  • Use tools such as Claude Code to accelerate prototyping and extend design workflows.
  • Deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements and limited resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience designing and launching complex workflows, enterprise or B2B SaaS products, developer tools, or API products.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex products or multiple product initiatives from concept to launch in ambiguous environments.
  • A portfolio demonstrating user-centered design thinking, strong problem-solving skills, and polished UI craftsmanship.
  • Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
  • Experience using AI tools, including Claude Code, as creative partners in the design process.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineers, researchers, and product stakeholders to turn complex concepts into usable experiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating interactive prototypes using frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Strong interest in developing safe, beneficial, and impactful artificial intelligence technologies.
  • Ability to explore emerging AI capabilities and translate them into innovative user experiences.
  • Passion for improving how people interact and collaborate with AI-powered products.

Education Requirements
