Senior Quality Engineer - Mobile & Web Automation

At Robinhood, Quality Engineering (QE) serves as the ultimate line of defense for product quality. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will uphold a high bar for customer experience across high-stakes P0 feature launches. You will design comprehensive test strategies, execute frontend and backend end-to-end (E2E) testing, build scalable automation frameworks across iOS, Android, and Web platforms, and collaborate with partner engineering teams and contractor groups on regression cycles.

Key Responsibilities

• P0 Launch Ownership: Own the end-to-end quality lifecycle for major product launches—from initial test planning and strategy through to final feature release and post-launch validation.
• Frontend & Backend Validation: Define, implement, and execute test strategies covering frontend user interfaces, backend API services, and system integrations across iOS, Android, and Web platforms.
• E2E Automation Engineering: Design, write, and maintain automated mobile and web test suites that accurately reflect real user interactions and business-critical workflows.
• Regression & Exploratory Testing: Build scalable test coverage frameworks encompassing functional, regression, exploratory, and edge-case testing cycles.
• Vendor & Partner Collaboration: Partner closely with internal software engineering teams and external contractor groups to streamline regression execution cycles and manage defect triage.

Requirements

Technical Skills & Test Automation

• Proven experience conducting quality engineering and software testing for native mobile (iOS and Android) and web applications in high-velocity product environments.
• Hands-on experience with modern UI test automation frameworks such as Appium, Selenium, or Playwright.
• Proficiency with scripting and object-oriented programming languages used in test infrastructure (e.g., Python or Java).
• Practical experience with bug-tracking platforms (e.g., Jira) and test management tools (e.g., TestRail).

Quality Assurance Principles & Soft Skills

• Deep understanding of core QA methodologies, software testing patterns, and test strategy development.
• Strong user empathy with a meticulous, detail-oriented approach to customer experience and edge-case discovery.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional engineering alignment.

Presence Requirements

• Ability to work in-person at least 3 days per week at Robinhood's New York City office location.
