About the role
Anthropic's customer-facing teams are often the first to show customers what Claude can do. As a Demo Engineer, you'll build demonstrations, reference implementations, and reusable tools that help these teams showcase new AI capabilities in practical, relevant, and trustworthy ways—ideally within days of a product launch.
This role combines product engineering, technical storytelling, and go-to-market (GTM) execution. You'll take ownership of complex, high-impact challenges, from rapidly prototyping agentic experiences to developing reliable solutions that other teams can use independently.
You'll collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Sales, and Solutions teams while sharing customer-facing insights with the teams developing Anthropic's products.
Because demonstrations often shape customers' first impressions of Claude, accuracy and honesty are just as important as presentation quality. Success means helping customer-facing teams demonstrate new capabilities sooner and with greater confidence, turning recurring requests into reusable tools, and using field insights to inform product decisions and launch readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Own demo readiness for new and priority Claude capabilities, including environments, integrations, synthetic data, evaluations, reliability checks, and fallback strategies.
- Build prototypes, agents, and reference workflows that demonstrate complex AI capabilities and connect them to clear customer outcomes.
- Convert recurring customer requests into reusable resources, including companion applications, templates, Skills, plugins, and self-service demo packages.
- Collaborate with go-to-market teams on high-impact customer engagements, resolve critical technical gaps, and identify opportunities to create shared assets.
- Develop internal agentic systems that automate demo preparation, validation, and asset maintenance to keep demonstrations up to date as products evolve.
- Translate customer-facing insights into product feedback, launch-readiness priorities, and systemic improvements in partnership with Product and Engineering.
- Establish and improve standards for demo accuracy, safety, reliability, usability, and adoption.
- Determine when customer requirements call for custom solutions and when they should become reusable platform capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python or TypeScript, with experience delivering working software end to end.
- Hands-on experience building applications or agents using large language model (LLM) APIs, including prompting, tool use, and retrieval.
- Experience designing integrations with third-party APIs, data sources, and services.
- Ability to turn ambiguous product capabilities or customer needs into working prototypes quickly and improve them for reliability.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, such as Sales and Solutions teams.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and go-to-market teams.
- Experience in demo engineering, solutions engineering, sales engineering, forward-deployed engineering, developer relations, or product engineering.
- A track record of building reusable internal tools, templates, or self-service resources that other teams have adopted.
- A commitment to making powerful technology safe and beneficial and representing AI capabilities accurately and honestly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code, the Claude Agent SDK, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), Skills, or plugins.
- Experience building evaluation and validation frameworks for AI systems, including reliability checks and graceful fallback mechanisms.
- Experience developing always-on or scheduled agentic systems that automate internal workflows.
- Experience creating synthetic or sanitized datasets that support realistic demonstrations without exposing sensitive information.
- Front-end development or product design skills that help make demonstrations polished and intuitive.
- Experience supporting product launches or managing launch-readiness programs.
- A track record of turning customer and field feedback into actionable product insights that influence roadmaps.
