About the role

MongoDB is the unified data platform built for the AI era, enabling builders to create, transform, and disrupt industries with software. Over 67,000 customers—including 75% of the Fortune 100—rely on MongoDB Atlas across AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.

The Finance Technology team modernizes foundational enterprise systems that employees and Finance organizations rely on every day.

As Product Manager 2 for Source-to-Pay (S2P) and Travel & Expense (T&E), you will partner directly with the Product Lead to define, prioritize, and execute the product roadmap across spend-management operations. Sitting at the intersection of Finance, Procurement, Accounting, Technology, and employee experience, you will lead product discovery, requirement definitions (PRDs), ERP/SaaS integrations, and adoption across procurement workflows, supplier management, corporate cards, expense submissions, and reimbursements. Additionally, you will identify practical opportunities to introduce responsible AI-assisted workflows (e.g., document/receipt understanding, conversational support, anomaly and fraud detection, and policy guidance) while maintaining strong SOX controls, segregation of duties, and auditability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Roadmap Execution & Strategy: Partner with the S2P/T&E Product Lead to translate Finance Technology objectives into prioritized product outcomes, feature epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release schedules.
  • Source-to-Pay (S2P) Workflow Modernization: Drive continuous enhancements across purchasing processes, including requisitions, multi-level approvals, supplier onboarding/data management, purchase orders, invoice matching, and payment handoffs.
  • Travel & Expense (T&E) Platform Optimization: Streamline travel booking, corporate card integrations, expense submissions, automated audit checks, policy enforcement, and employee reimbursement experiences.
  • Enterprise AI & Intelligent Automation: Frame and implement responsible AI capabilities—such as automated receipt extraction, anomaly/fraud detection, conversational policy guidance, risk-based routing, and human-in-the-loop validation.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Engineering, Architecture, Business Systems, Data & Analytics, Security, Privacy, and Internal Audit to build scalable, maintainable SaaS integrations (Coupa, Concur, NetSuite, Brex, AppZen, Navan).
  • Control Framework & Compliance: Ensure platform architecture and user access roles support proper segregation of duties, audit trails, data integrity, privacy standards, and SOX compliance.
  • Delivery Rituals & Operational Excellence: Lead Agile rituals (sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, release readiness) and support incident/problem management for in-scope platforms when production issues arise.
  • Product Metrics & Telemetry: Track and optimize core operational KPIs, including cycle times, straight-through processing rates, manual-touch reductions, policy exception rates, and user satisfaction scores.

Requirements

Product Management & Enterprise Systems Depth

  • 5+ years of product management experience (or equivalent experience in business systems, enterprise product ownership, or IT solution delivery).
  • Domain Mastery: Hands-on experience with Source-to-Pay, procurement, accounts payable, corporate travel, expense management, corporate cards, or related Finance operations.
  • Enterprise Systems & Integrations: Deep understanding of enterprise business system concepts—including master data management, approval workflows, APIs, middleware, and reporting frameworks.
  • Enterprise AI Fluency: Practical understanding of modern AI capabilities, limitations, and economics, with the ability to define requirements for AI-assisted workflows, feedback loops, and human-in-the-loop verification.
  • Agile Delivery: Demonstrated ability to lead discovery and backlog prioritization alongside Agile engineering pods.
  • Data & Analytical Skills: Proficiency using data metrics to frame business problems, establish baselines, and validate post-launch outcomes.
  • Governance & Audit Awareness: Understanding of internal control frameworks, segregation of duties, audit trails, and SOX compliance within enterprise Finance systems.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience administering or integrating spend-management SaaS platforms (Coupa, Concur, NetSuite, Brex, AppZen, Navan).
  • Direct experience deploying LLM/OCR document understanding or fraud-detection engines in enterprise workflows.
  • Background in managing cross-functional change management and user enablement programs for global employee populations.

Success Milestones

  • Within 6 Months: Establish relationships across Finance, Procurement, and Technology; complete a total assessment of the S2P/T&E tech stack, pain points, and controls; and define high-value AI/automation pilot opportunities.
  • Within 12 Months: Deliver scalable product capabilities that reduce manual processing, achieve measurable cycle-time improvements, strengthen platform integration reliability, and serve as a recognized subject matter expert for Finance Tech.

Total Rewards & Benefits

  • Compensation & Equity: Base salary range of $106,000 – $209,000 USD + equity grants + Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) participation.
  • Healthcare & Family Support: 20 weeks of fully paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility & adoption stipends, and transgender-inclusive health coverage.
  • Retirement & Wellness: 401(k) plan with match, flexible paid time off (PTO), mental health counseling, and wellness reimbursements.
