Senior AI Engineer - Predictive ML & LLM Products (Fintech)

KamelPay is a payments company operating in a live payments environment, building AI-powered products and services.

We're looking for a Senior AI Engineer to own applied AI end-to-end at KamelPay. You'll work across predictive ML, LLM products, document intelligence, and AI-powered backend services, taking models from idea to production and helping set the technical direction for the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Own applied AI projects end-to-end, from design through production deployment
• Build and ship predictive ML models, LLM-based products, and document intelligence solutions
• Develop AI-powered backend services and REST APIs
• Deploy, monitor, and debug models in a live payments environment
• Set technical direction for AI initiatives
• Mentor and support junior engineers

Requirements

• 5–8 years of hands-on AI/ML engineering experience with production systems
• Strong ML fundamentals: feature engineering, evaluation, avoiding data leakage, and calibration
• Proven experience deploying, monitoring, and debugging models in production
• Ability to set technical direction and mentor junior engineers

Skills

Technical Skills

• Advanced Python, including Pandas and NumPy
• SQL and relational databases
• LLM APIs, embeddings, RAG, and structured outputs
• FastAPI, Pydantic, and REST APIs

Soft Skills

• Technical leadership and decision-making
• Mentoring and collaboration

Nice to Have

• Docker, CI/CD, and cloud platforms
• OCR tooling (Tesseract, PyMuPDF, pdfplumber, OpenCV)
• Experience deploying open-source or local LLMs
• Background in fintech, payments, or other regulated industries
