About the role
Gemini is a global crypto and Web3 platform founded in 2014 by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, delivering secure, reliable crypto products to millions of individuals and institutions across 70+ countries.
As the Software Engineering Manager for the Product Tooling team, you will lead an engineering team working across backend microservices, web, and mobile surfaces. Your team builds the customer-facing platform tooling that defines the core user journey—from initial onboarding and identity/KYC compliance to customer support workflows and ad-hoc platform initiatives. In this people leadership and technical guidance role, you will define roadmaps, mentor engineers, oversee system architecture, and advance Gemini's AI-assisted development practice and agentic SDLC pipeline—where specialized agents plan, implement, and review code alongside human developers.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Organizational Design: Structure, recruit, and lead a high-performing team of full-stack engineers; establish goals, conduct performance reviews, and guide career growth.
- Architectural Guidance & Scaling: Stay deeply involved in system architecture across backend, web, and mobile—identifying scaling, performance, and availability pitfalls in identity, compliance, and customer support infrastructure.
- Engineering Excellence & AI SDLC: Drive high standards across code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipelines while helping the team adopt and evolve Gemini's AI coding tools and agentic development harness.
- Execution & Accountability: Hold the team accountable to project milestones and delivery targets, resolving ambiguity and breaking complex initiatives into execution roadmaps.
- Cross-Functional Stakeholder Alignment: Partner closely with Product Managers, Project Managers, Design leaders, and business stakeholders to align technical strategy with company objectives.
- Inclusive Culture & Hiring: Build diverse, equitable hiring plans, foster an inclusive environment, and provide frequent coaching and actionable feedback.
