About the role
At Affirm, we exist for the moments that matter—giving people a clear, predictable way to pay over time with no hidden fees, no surprises, and no tradeoffs on what matters most.
As a Senior Product Manager on the Terms and Payments team, you will own the core checkout experience—the "face of Affirm"—where millions of consumers select and review their payment terms at the critical moment of commitment. Sitting at the intersection of Product, Design, Engineering, Research, Analytics, and Legal, you will design and ship high-converting UX patterns that drive user clarity and confidence. You will run rigorous A/B experiments, adapt checkout flows for regulatory compliance, and partner with international product teams to expand Affirm's term selection experiences into new global markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Core Checkout UX Ownership: Own the end-to-end checkout experience where users select and review payment terms, optimizing for conversion, clarity, and user confidence at commitment.
- Experimentation & Conversion: Design, execute, and evaluate UX experiments that improve how consumers evaluate, choose, and commit to repayment plans.
- New Pattern Discovery & Launch: Define and ship modern checkout UX patterns, translating quantitative analytics and user research insights into clear, delightful interfaces.
- Regulatory & Compliance Alignment: Partner closely with Legal and Compliance teams to seamlessly weave regulatory requirements and consumer financial disclosures into checkout flows.
- Global Ecosystem Expansion: Collaborate with international product teams to adapt term selection experiences for new geographical markets while maintaining design system cohesion.
- Roadmap Execution & Influence: Identify high-leverage product bets, build alignment across cross-functional partners without formal authority, and drive concepts through launch and iteration.
Requirements

- 5+ years of progressive product management experience leading consumer-facing digital software or fintech products.
- Refined Taste for Consumer UX: Strong instincts and opinions on what makes digital interactions feel clear, intuitive, considered, and delightful at high-intent moments in the user flow.
- Analytical Rigor: Proven ability to analyze quantitative funnel metrics, interpret experiment results, and synthesize qualitative user research into actionable product strategies.
- High-Agency Execution: Demonstrated history of shipping complex products reliably, identifying opportunities independently, and maintaining a high bar for software quality.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Outstanding communication skills with the ability to explain trade-offs clearly, align stakeholders, and build trust across Product, Engineering, Design, Legal, and Analytics.
- Coachability & Mindset: Active seeker of feedback who absorbs input constructively to iterate and improve product outcomes.
Work Logistics
- Ability to work remotely within the United States.
- Willingness to participate in an interactive in-person onboarding experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct domain experience in checkout flows, e-commerce platforms, point-of-sale systems, or consumer fintech.
