Software Quality Engineer (AI-Augmented) Karachi | Hul Hub

Hul Hub is hiring a Software Quality Engineer in Karachi to test software with a critical, evidence-based approach and to use AI tools responsibly while catching their hallucinations and weak output. You will test requirements, APIs, and applications, build automated tests, and take ownership of quality throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to find gaps, ambiguities, contradictions, and risks
• Perform functional, exploratory, regression, integration, end-to-end, API, and edge-case testing
• Use AI for test scenarios, test data, scripts, log summaries, and root-cause analysis, while catching hallucinations and weak output
• Investigate defects using browser developer tools, application logs, API responses, database records, and monitoring tools
• Test REST APIs, validate request and response contracts, verify authorization and error handling, and use SQL to check data integrity
• Perform load and performance testing using JMeter and Locust
• Develop and maintain automated tests using Selenium, Python, or JavaScript
• Validate fixes, assess regression risks, and continuously improve testing strategies and quality standards
• Document defects clearly, communicate technical risks, and take ownership of quality

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant field
• 2-4 years of relevant software testing experience
• Strong analytical reasoning, critical thinking, risk-based testing, and boundary value analysis
• Hands-on familiarity with Postman, SQL, Jira, and browser developer tools
• Understanding of functional, exploratory, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing
• Knowledge of defect investigation, debugging, root-cause analysis, and test automation fundamentals
• Excellent written and verbal English, including requirement analysis and professional defect reporting
• Ability to identify assumptions, detect contradictions, evaluate competing explanations, and make evidence-based decisions
• Strong ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and independent problem-solving skills
