Underwriting Intern, Global Risk Solutions | Liberty Mutual

Underwriters help businesses navigate risk by asking two core questions: should Liberty Mutual cover a particular organization, and what is the right price for the risk? During this 11-week internship, you will work alongside experienced underwriters and see how underwriting decisions support business growth, protect customers, and contribute to a profitable portfolio. You will analyze business and financial information, learn how risks are evaluated and priced, and take on meaningful projects. You will also build analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills, and join professional development activities to expand your network and explore career paths within GRS.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Risk Management & Insurance, Economics, Business, or a comparable field, with at least one semester remaining after summer 2027 and a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
• 0-2 years of professional experience
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and negotiating skills
• Solid interpersonal skills and a passion for customer service
• Willingness to complete professional designation(s) and continuing insurance education after graduation
• Availability to work full-time for 11 weeks
• Permanent work authorization in the United States
