About the role
Tenable® is the Exposure Management company trusted by over 40,000 organizations globally—including 65% of the Fortune 500—to understand and reduce cybersecurity risk.
As a Creative eLearning Developer, you will combine three distinct craft disciplines in one role: multimedia/video design, graphic design/brand stewardship, and technical writing. Unlike standard authoring roles that rely on pre-supplied assets, you will serve as a hands-on creative author—producing 2D/3D visual graphics, video animation, scripts, and course copy, while authoring interactive training modules in Articulate Storyline and Rise 360. You will own deliverables end-to-end from initial storyboard through final SCORM/xAPI packaging and LMS deployment, maintaining visual consistency across Tenable's enterprise services portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Multimedia & Video Production: Edit final video and audio deliverables; translate storyboards into animated sequences, motion graphics, 2D line art, and 3D course visuals.
- Brand Stewardship & Design Hub: Create and maintain corporate presentation templates, style guides, and brand standards (typography, iconography, logo usage); serve as the direct creative point-of-contact for leadership decks and one-off collateral.
- Technical Writing & Scripting: Write and edit scripts, voiceover narration, captions, course documentation, and on-screen callouts—translating complex cybersecurity topics into clear narratives.
- eLearning Authoring & LMS Publishing: Build interactive learning modules (branching scenarios, simulations, quizzes) using Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, or Adobe Captivate; package to SCORM/xAPI standards, enforce Section 508 accessibility compliance, and perform LMS integration testing.
- Process Management & Mentorship: Independently manage team workflows (video mastering, SCORM standards, template libraries) and mentor junior designers across the production team.
Requirements
Professional Experience & Technical Competencies
- 5+ years of professional experience in eLearning development, multimedia production, graphic design, or video editing.
- Authoring & Creative Tools: High proficiency with Articulate Storyline and/or Rise 360 (or Adobe Captivate), Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere/After Effects), Camtasia, and executive presentation tools (PowerPoint, Google Slides).
- LMS & Accessibility Standards: Practical knowledge of SCORM/xAPI packaging, LMS testing, Section 508 accessibility standards, and Instructional Design frameworks (ADDIE).
- Technical Writing & Documentation: Strong capability to write instructional scripts, technical documentation, and voiceover copy for software/cybersecurity subjects.
- Brand Management: Experience building or enforcing enterprise brand guideline systems across multi-channel learning collateral.
Education, Work Logistics & Security
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with enterprise software delivery lifecycles, Jira, and Confluence.
- Ability to work remotely in a self-directed manner, with potential hybrid/onsite visits to Tenable offices in Columbia, MD or Boston, MA.
- U.S. Work Authorization Required: Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without employer visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct familiarity with Tenable cybersecurity products (e.g., Tenable.one, Nessus), enterprise network architectures, and vulnerability management.
- Experience managing corporate brand overhauls or rebrand transitions.
Total Rewards & Benefits
- Compensation & Bonus: Base salary of $80,500 – $107,166.66 USD + annual variable performance bonus.
- Health & Wellbeing: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability protection; Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
- Financial Security: 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).
- Time Off & Support: Paid time off (PTO), paid company holidays, parental leave, tuition/education assistance, and employee referral bonuses.
