Specimen Accessioner - Medical Laboratory & Processing

Labcorp is looking for a Specimen Accessioner/Processor to join its team at LabCorp Oklahoma. You would prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, route them to the right staging areas, label and ship them to testing facilities, and enter patient information accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Unpack and route specimens to their staging areas.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens to the proper testing facilities.
• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Prepare and store excess specimen samples properly.
• Enter patient information accurately and on time.
• Resolve and document any problem specimens.

Experience and education required

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Preferred

• Current or prior Labcorp experience.
• 1+ year of experience in a lab or specimen processing.
• 1+ year in a medical or clinical laboratory environment.
• 1+ year in the healthcare industry, such as a physician’s office, clinic, or hospital.
• 1 year in an assembly or manufacturing production environment.
