Staff Product Manager – Identity Governance at Okta

Okta Identity Governance (OIG) is one of Okta’s fastest-growing products, helping thousands of customers maintain zero-standing privileges, automate access certifications, streamline identity lifecycle management, and meet compliance requirements.

Okta is seeking a Staff Product Manager to help advance its identity governance platform by defining product strategy, delivering customer-focused capabilities, and collaborating with engineering, architecture, design, and cross-functional product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand challenges related to governance, compliance, and access management, and identify opportunities for Okta to deliver value.
• Define and execute the product roadmap for the Okta Identity Governance platform.
• Establish the product strategy and vision, communicating and promoting it among internal and external stakeholders.
• Prioritize roadmap initiatives and make strategic trade-offs to achieve product goals and deliver the overall vision.
• Lead a Scrum team of engineers to deliver high-quality features within communicated timelines.
• Serve as a thought leader for the product area, staying informed about industry innovations and the competitive landscape.
• Collaborate with Product Marketing to communicate Okta’s product differentiation and positioning against market alternatives.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of product management experience, preferably in Enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
• Experience developing phased roadmaps for complex or abstract projects and executing them to deliver products that customers value.
• A customer-focused mindset, strong ownership, curiosity, team spirit, and a commitment to measurable outcomes.
• Bachelor’s degree or Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Okta and its technology, particularly Identity Governance and Access Management.
• Direct experience or practical knowledge of identity governance concepts, including:
  • Access certifications.
  • Entitlement management.
  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
  • Separation of duties.
• Familiarity with identity standards such as System for Cross-domain Identity Management (SCIM) and Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML).
• Knowledge of the identity governance market and competing solutions, including SailPoint, Saviynt, Microsoft Entra ID Governance, and other Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) providers.

Work Location and Office Requirements

This is a hybrid role with specific in-office requirements.

• Office attendance: Employees must work from their local office two days per week.
• In-person orientation: Employees must attend orientation at either the San Francisco or Chicago office.

Salary and Compensation

Okta offers competitive compensation that may include base salary, equity, bonuses, and employee benefits.

Annual base salary

$194,000–$266,000 USD

Actual base salary depends on factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.
