About the role
Lyra Health is a leading provider of evidence-based mental health care, serving over 20 million people globally through employers and health plan partnerships. Combining top-tier clinical care with AI-powered technology platforms like Lyra Empower, Lyra enables individuals to recover twice as fast while lowering overall healthcare claims costs.
As an After Hours Clinical Care Navigator, you will perform critical, high-impact clinical work—managing behavioral health crises, providing in-the-moment telephone support for complex cases, conducting risk assessments, and connecting clients to evidence-based providers and facilities. This position focuses exclusively on telephonic and email care navigation and does not involve providing long-term psychotherapy or in-person clinical services.
Key Responsibilities
- High-Acuity Crisis Management: Deliver in-the-moment telephonic crisis support, safety planning, and risk assessments for clients presenting with active suicidality, homicidality, non-suicidal self-injurious behavior (NSSIB), or mandated reporting situations.
- Care Routing & Access: Guide clients through complex behavioral health options, connecting them to high-quality, evidence-based therapy, coaching, or facility-based care.
- Process Improvement & Feedback: Actively participate in shaping Lyra's care delivery protocols by providing actionable feedback to internal teams and adopting new clinical technology workflows.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Collaborate with internal clinical leads, operations, and external care providers via email and phone to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements
Licensure & Education
- Required Education & Licensure: Must hold one of the following independent clinical credentials:
- Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work or equivalent with active independent clinical licensure (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LPCC, or equivalent).
- Registered Nurse (RN) license with specialized behavioral health experience.
- Note: Lyra cannot provide supervised hours toward licensure. Candidates without an independent state clinical license (or active RN license) cannot be considered.
Clinical Experience
- Licensed Therapists (LCSW/LMFT/LPC/LPCC): 2+ years of post-licensure clinical experience (EAP or clinical call center experience strongly preferred).
- Registered Nurses (RN): 2+ years of specific behavioral health nursing experience, including risk assessment and safety planning.
- Demonstrated experience managing high-acuity crisis scenarios (suicidality, mandatory reporting, emergency interventions).
Logistics & Mindset
- Full-time residency in the United States (all work must be conducted within the U.S.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with comfort navigating modern technology platforms.
- Complete commitment to working one of the required night shift schedules (Tuesday–Saturday).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual Capabilities: Fluency in written and spoken Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience within Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), behavioral health call centers, or telephonic triage platforms.
Total Rewards & Benefits
- Compensation: Base pay rate of $38.65 USD / hour.
- Healthcare Coverage: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, HSA/FSA options, life insurance, and short/long-term disability coverage.
- Mental Health Perks: Free access to therapy and coaching via "Lyra for Lyrians."
- Paid Time Off & Financial: Vacation, sick time, paid company holidays, paid parental leave, and 401(k) retirement savings plan.
- Workplace Stipends: Monthly technology allowance and regular employee wellbeing perks.
