Staff Program Manager - Data Labeling & AI Ops

Reddit is a network of over 100,000 active communities where over 130 million daily active unique visitors dive into their interests and passions. Core to scaling Reddit's ads platform and consumer product experiences is high-quality, continuous data annotation.

As the Staff Operations Program Manager (IC5) for Reddit's central data labeling function, you will serve as the strategic architect and operational lead powering machine learning models, taxonomies, safety algorithms, and product experiments across both the Ads and Consumer organizations. In this high-visibility 0-to-1 role, you will translate unstructured product needs into unambiguous labeling directives, partner with vendor operations to scale workforce delivery, and integrate LLM-assisted annotation workflows to multiply throughput and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Intake & Prioritization: Own and scale the incoming labeling request process across Consumer Product and Ads organizations, establishing clear SLA frameworks, business impact criteria, and prioritization models.
• 0-to-1 LLM Scaling & Roadmap: Architect and execute the operational strategy to integrate LLM-assisted and automated labeling workflows alongside human vendor teams to scale throughput.
• Taxonomy & Experimentation Architecture: Standardize taxonomy guidelines, edge-case classification trees, and multi-quarter labeling pipelines supporting Consumer experimentations and Ads safety systems.
• Vendor Partner Operational Alignment: Collaborate with internal Vendor Managers to hand off executable guidelines, calibrate task accuracy, resolve edge cases, and maintain continuous quality feedback loops.
• Operational Framework Standardization: Build, document, and maintain centralized request intake models, QA benchmark practices, and throughput metrics across all labeling domains.
• Cross-Functional Stakeholder Leadership: Partner directly with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Ops Leaders, aligning human and machine annotation capabilities with broader business goals.

Requirements

Data Operations & LLM Infrastructure Depth

• 7+ years of professional experience in data operations, program management, or vendor operations with a heavy focus on data labeling, model training datasets, or taxonomy infrastructure.
• Stakeholder Leadership & Prioritization: Demonstrated ability to align Product and Engineering leadership, set firm operational boundaries, and enforce structured prioritization models.
• Taxonomy & Instruction Mastery: Exceptional track record translating vague product requirements into detailed, unambiguous labeling instructions, edge-case trees, and taxonomy classification schemas.
• LLM & Automation Integration: Practical experience leveraging LLMs, synthetic data generation, or automated tooling to augment human annotation workflows and scale capacity.
• Vendor Operations Collaboration: Proven success partnering with Vendor Operations managers to translate project requirements into task guidelines and handle technical escalations.

Work Logistics

• Ability to work remotely within the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience navigating cross-functional dynamics spanning both Ads/Monetization engines and Consumer-facing product organizations.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and data manipulation to independently analyze vendor quality metrics, pipeline throughput, and project completion SLAs.
